2022! So hard to believe!!
Hope you are having a great start to your
new
year — and it will be filled with many Blessings!

I'm very happy to be able to post my
first painting of 2022 — and as in many of my
recent efforts it started out as a sketch from 2019
— and you can see that original drawing here.
I used to go out to coffee houses a lot then —
and I would sit and sketch — and even though I
almost never bought anything — I was always
allowed to sit for hours and do my thing.
One day — I was at one of those BIG chain
places that serve HORRIBLE, EXPENSIVE coffee
that people seem to only be able to tolerate if it has
all kinds of sugar, syrups and flavorings in it —
(but they never seem to lack for business —
sooooo — WHAT DO I KNOW).
Anywho — as I'd sit sketching I'd enjoy 'people-watching.'
One day — there was a long line of folks
waiting
to place their order — and whether they were
with someone else or not — ALL of them had their
faces GLUED to their phones. : ?
Then as I looked around the room — EVERY
ONE seated at the tables were peering into their phones.
Even a middle-aged couple sat silently nearby — each one
engrossed in what ever they were doing on their screens.
I'm no technophobe — but it seemed so odd — but
apparently I was the only one who thought so.
