Kitsch Assignment: We were instructed to pick up an item at
a thrift shop for under $5.00 and use it for inspiration to create an image.

I found an awesome little egg-timer that looked like a
cartoon chicken. I gave it a tilt of it's head and an intense
expression and put it in this "heroic" logo.

Plantanimal Assignment: We drew slips of paper from a hat
with names of plants and animals on them.

Whatever we got we were supposed to create a design based on them.

The two names I pulled out were Alligator and Rose.

Pattern Assignment: As you'll see in the next image — "patterns" connect together
and form seamless designs that can be used for textiles, wall- paper and so on.

I had a lot of fun creating the swords and Celtic knots that encircle the lion.

If you stare at one place on the lion's nose for 30- 45 seconds and
then look at a white paper or wall—you'll see the lion image in reverse.

It's pretty cool!

Incongruous Texture Assignment: We were told to create an
object that used a texture not associated with it.

I immediately thought of a woman's lips and tried to make them look like stone, riveted
metal, and so on—but when I tried a stained glass look—that seemed to really work.

Year 3000 Dwelling Assignment - Part 1

We were told to conceive of a structure used as a dwelling in the year 3,000.

I decided to chose a dystopia future where MANY people are imprisoned
and that large corporations have partnered with Governments to build the prisons for them.

September 2018 Update: I'd chose Amazon and Google as the corporations if I was re-creating this assignment today.
