Like so many of my projects this started
out as a simple character sketch I created ages ago.

I liked that original concept though — and so I began
the process of digitally painting over the sketch.

I struggled to get a color scheme and lighting I was happy
with and created MANY different ideas for it.

FINALLY, at long last I began settling on a silvery, black and white photo look — and that's when it started to "feel right."

Once I finally y had that worked out — the other
elements of the halo, banner, and lettering fell into place.

I call this one "The Watchman."
